Sahara Sands

Sahara Sands was a fashion model in San Francisco when she met porn legend Nina Hartley at a human sexuality seminar, where they discussed the adult-film industry. Sands was not sure she could support herself as a model and was intrigued by pornography after seeing some videos with her boyfriend at the time. Later Sahara moved to Los Angeles, and it wasn't long before she decided to try her hand at porn, making her first video in 1992. She left the business temporarily in 1994 to have a child, but eventually returned and finally retired in 2005. She was known for her anal scenes. Sands has said that some directors wouldn't hire her because she was often much taller than most male pornstars. But her height often got her booked into girl-girl scenes as the dominant partner.
